I can't get Internet Explorer 9 to download the map! I can get to http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/latest/ OK, but when I try and download a .IMG file from there I don't get an option to save. The problem may be a "feature" in Internet Explorer. It's guessing incorrectly that the file type of the ".img" file is ".htm". I'd try this: Right-click the .img file, "save target as", save as type "all files", change the file extension to ".img" and click OK. answered 07 Feb '13, 15:21 SomeoneElse ♦ |
If you are trying to download a map going to File > Save as..., you can't do that! Try the Export button at the top of the website. answered 07 Feb '13, 08:07 Kaigara |
Download what map from where exactly?
We're confused. Could you explain in a bit more detail what buttons you're pressing in what order, what you'd expect to happen and what actually does?
I go to this page and at the bottom i click on United States http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/OSM_Map_On_Garmin/Download
then it go to this page http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/
I pick the (Latest) at the bottom of page. It takes me to this page http://daveh.dev.openstreetmap.org/garmin/Lambertus/latest/ I then pick the 4000MD-???????.gmapsupp.ing Then that is when i get the garbage. I can do this with Firefox and it works great. So how do i do this with Internet Explorer 9?
@Iowa Kid: I am repeating scai and SomeoneElse: what do you want? For which device? Please note that there is no "the map".
@aseerel4c26 I've now edited the question to contain what the submitter might have said had they described the problem that they had.
@SomeoneElse: that may be - or the user did not want to have a map for a Garmin device at all. ;-)
