Pulling my hair out. Have used http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/ for obtaining maps for my older Garmin 1490T and recently bought a Nuvi 3580 (Costco's version of Nuvi 3590). I placed the gmapsupp.img file into the Garmin folder on the internal storage of the device (total map size is 109 MB) and I can't pull up the map on the device under myMaps tab. Tried creating \Map folder in root and under Garmin - no luck. Inserted external SD card and placed *.img there - no luck. Created folder \Map on external card - no luck.

Help? Thanks.

Hopefully it's possible to display OSM, but as you haven't had a response from here (after 21 hours) you could try Garmin support I have heard that they can be helpful. Have you tried connecting it to the PC via Basecamp or Mapsource? from which you could send maps. I have recently used a OSM download in Basecamp which is good. Here's a link for Holland/Garmin, which I've not tried, http://www.garmin.com/nl/support/
