There are some dance schools and I was wondering the best way to tag them.

A dance school is a usually private school in which you can take classes on how to dance. They can teach anything from Jazz dance to ballroom dancing depending on the school.

Do I do a simple amenity = school, leisure=dance, access=private

or is this abusing the tags and misusing them.

There are more than one in my town and more I would like to tag in other towns but I need to know which is the best way going forward.

Any comments and input is welcomed.

Question shouldn't be closed, as OSM landscape changes - right now I'd love to add a new answer, pointing at https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:amenity%3Ddancing_school .

I've reopened it. I guess that the questioner mean to accept neuhausr's answer rather than close the question (not their fault - OSQA can be pretty confusing).

Maybe just leisure=dance, combined with dance:teaching=yes and building=yes if appropriate. It doesn't seem like amenity=school is used much with things like a dance school.

You cab go to the Taginfo webservice and enter there any keywords like dance, dancing, school or each mixed with others, to find out how often it is already used in the raw OSM data.

Or go to the OSM wiki and type "dance" or similar in the text search field ... there are some proposals.

I search the wiki however it didn't return any results

This might be better converted to a comment, it does not answer the question - only suggests to search for tags.
