user smaleke deleted an big area around cortina in this edit. Since I did a lot of work in this area I am not happy ... My provisioncy in the osm editor holds me back to revert his changes. Considering his edits I'd rather not ask him/her either. And wouldn't mind if he or she is not allowed to edit any further...

this is the actual changeset 11784038

Thnx in advance to recouperate my and other ppls work.

Dear Mafketel, What’s keeping you back to ask for a reverse of the edits. The mapper could be very glad to get a notice 'you’re doing something that’s questionable' isnt it ? Greetz Ps on the other hand its always possible that your work is ondone by someone else, who has the idea thats it a newer vision.

Because even when using the term "reverse of the edits" I cannot find a way how to do that.

From the history of my edits(adding skilifts and slopes) I just see my own edits and then a deletion by smaleke, I went to the edits of smaleke and found out he deleted about 4950 nodes and 157 ways and 4 relations.

Of those just very few are restored. At least that is what i deduct from the line through the node name.

I can fix my own stuff with some difficulty but I was hoping 1. all of his mistakes can be made undone by someone who knows what he is doing(not me the knowing part) 2. there might be an easier way then one by one reverting his mistakes.

I noticed the edits because I was missing the lifts today.

It's perfectly OK to ask here (or on IRC, or on a mailing list) for help with reverting other people's errors, and that's exactly what the top answer to this previous question suggests. Although I'd always do it out of politeness, in this case it's unlikely that "messaging the user who did the deletion" would work as they made 2 edits 6 months ago and haven't been back since.

Apart from the fact you revert with JOSM(with which I am not comfortable and I did not know there was a revert plugin) Those were exactly my thoughts. Out of courtesy I did send smaleke a message about the same time I replied to Hendrikklaas. Not expecting a reply on that, same as i probably won't reply to a message I get on osm since i visit about twice a year ;)

For what it's worth, I didn't revert using JOSM, I used Frederik's revert scripts.
