Hi all, I'm remapping the Bois helicopter field (http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=45.939232&lon=6.896469&zoom=18&layers=M), and I don't know how to map the surrounding artificial ground walls, which can be seen for instance here: http://rocknrollcircuschx.free.fr/photos/DZ_des_bois_FSX_1.jpg. They are quite important as they define the boundary of the military zone. Any tips? Thanks, Ocirne

A few people have gone for "earth_bank". Another possibility is "embankment", but that doesn't seem quite right here.

Perhaps this is a question that's best asked on the "tagging" mailing list? I'm sure that you'll get lots of different opinions there.

barrier=wall comes closest to what it is. Behaves like a wall with at least one nearly-vertical side, prevents passage, non-transparent, solid material.

A wall can be further defined by wall= and material=, check out the wiki-site for some suggestions: http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Tag:barrier%3Dwall

so why not barrier=wall, wall=earth_bank, material=ground
