Hello,

I need a route on my website as a image.

I have found http://map.project-osrm.org/. On this site it's possible to generated a route but there is no export-function for a etc. .png file. Is a screenshot of a route legal? It can be used for free?

The project-osrm web site uses map tiles from the OpenStreetMap server which are licensed under a CC-BY-SA license (see bottom right corner of map on map.project-osrm.org). This means that you can use or redistribute a screenshot under the conditions of CC-BY-SA. If you just keep intact the copyright note in the bottom right corner when you distribute the screenshot (minus the "Leaflet" if you want) then you'll be fine. It's legal and free.

Note that this does not necessarily apply to all maps generated from OpenStreetMap data; it would be possible for an online map provider to draw maps from OSM that are not freely copyable. The data is always open (it comes under an ODbL license and nobody can change that) but works produced from the data might not always be (whoever produces the work has the liberty of choosing the terms).
