I made some edits with Potlatch 2 and when I wanted to save changes, I got this error: A server error occurred. Do you want to retry? (The server said: Version mismatch: Provided 2, server had: 3 of Way 174845593) What should I do? asked 19 Nov '12, 07:39 Ali Behzadia... |
Way 174845593 has been changed by a different user after you downloaded it and before you tried to uploaded it again. This results in a conflict because you try to overwrite the newer version of the way with an older version. As far as I know Potlatch doesn't have any conflict resolving mechanism like JOSM has, so you have to do your work again. Therefore you should upload your changes often as the Beginners' Guide tells you to keep the possibility of conflicts to a minimum. answered 19 Nov '12, 12:46 scai ♦ 1
Although you aren't able to reconcile your changes with other people's in Potlatch, you can at least save the changes that you were trying to make - if you say "no" and then "view data" you'll get a screen showing the "osmchange" XML. If it happens again, I'd contact someone via the #OSM IRC channel and they'll be able to help - it's possible to edit the osmchange XML and then upload via another mechanism, such as upload.py, but it's not for the faint-hearted.

I’m not able to tackle this problem, but don’t mind either. Just step back and return to the or one of the original positions step by step (use undo in the left upper corner) and try to save your work every time after a step. Save your work regularly please, it’s keeping data loss to a minimum. Greetz answered 19 Nov '12, 11:49 Hendrikklaas |
