I am a first time user of OSM. I have successfully added 2 maps to my Etrex 20 and everything looks great. My problem is that even though the names of the 2 files I loaded are unique, they bear the same names in the Etrex 20 menu. Do I have to use mkgmap to actually see which map is which in the Etrex 20? |

Have a look at Javawa's device manager, it's a great tool to manage your maps on your GPS, you can also rename the mapsets with this tool. |

To change the name of a garmin map image file the imo easiest way is to use gmaptool or short gmt. |

If you can find a download site that sets a non-default title (it's just a mkgmap parameter I believe) then that might be an answer for you. However, if you do decide to download some data and use mkgmap it's really not that hard! Also, if you haven't already seen it, have a look at this previous question which may be relevant (despite the title) - it has lots of useful links, including to here. |
