I am trying to use the OSM data for Australia, and expected to find an admin-level=2 boundary relation for the country, but there does not appear to be one. On this wiki page, the boundary level specification for Australia is listed as "proposed".

I'm slightly surprised by this - I've examined 46 countries and Australia is the first one that hasn't had an admin-level=2 relation.

I've had a look at a few Australia-specific forums and other resources, but nobody seems to be discussing this... does anyone know what's happening with it?

I think this might be what is left of the boundary relation, but most of the boundary, and a couple of the relevant relation tags seem to have been redacted.

Thanks Ed. I guess that means it won't be reappearing any time soon, so I'll need to code something special to handle Australia. I'm glad that it's surrounded by ocean, I would have a real problem otherwise!
