Hi,

I have recently bought a GPS Mio Cyclo 300. It uses openstreetmap.

Yesterday I went with my bike into the Forest of Saint-Germain, on the west of the Parisian region. The GPS couln't show me any of the tracks that I see on this web site (http://www.openstreetmap.org/?lat=48.9415&lon=2.1072&zoom=13&layers=M).

How is it possible?

Many thanks in advance. Cheers,

Raniero

As a bit more info, here is one of the bridleways concerned - you can see the tags that are set.

Here is the user manual for the same or a similar device. Presumably on page 17 you've set "bike map" to OSM?

Here is an online review that doesn't describe the data being used but does say "this cycle satnav’s route planning hasn’t yet got to grips with the finer points of British cycleways"

The map page show the up to date map, apart from recent stuff that hasn't not been rendered. Your GPS Mio map will be older so if possible get a newer download for it. You can probably find it's date of production somewhere attached to the map file it uses.

It is also possible that their routing algorithms don't route bicycles over bridleways, in which case it is something they need to fix.
