Hi, this is a second question following my earlier one. Why gives the tag man_made tower used for a wooden bell_tower a specific radio_tower picture ? And secondly, why is a lattice made out of steel, the earlier constructions were all made out of wood ? Could I use tower:construction wooden_lattice ?

I assume you mean the symbol used on the Standard map. Some choices have to be made when symbols are chosen. If every special type of object had its own symbol no one would know what they all mean. If you want to see the differences you can always render your own map. It's not too hard and gives you a very fine degree of control over what you show and how it is displayed. See switch2osm.

Changing the tags you use will probably mean the tower will not be shown at all since the renderer only recognises some tags. You may like to be more specific about the tags you use, but only to put more detail into OSM; the Standard map will ignore the special tags at the moment. If your new tags become popular then the Standard map will probably start to use it.
