I try to download a detailed map of Paris for my Garmin 60Csx, with the service at http://garmin.openstreetmap.nl/

When I download the generated map I only get the main routes, not those lovely tiny streets. How can I get a detailed map. When I zoom in on Openstreetmaps the streets are there, so how do I get them on my device.

Thanks, John

Is it just a visual problem or can't you route along those roads? What type of map and TYP file did you select on garmin.openstreetmap.nl? Also, according to Lambertus (the author) there are currently some problems which might be the reason for your strange behavior.

Hi,

Thanks for your replies.

I have no map on my Garmin 60Csx yet. At hte webservice I manualy selected the tiles surrounding Paris. After I got the email stating my map was generated, i downloaded the windows installation. I double clicked that exe file and completed the installation process.

Then execute Garmin Basecamp and in the dropdown menu I selected the Paris map.

Now Basecamp shows the map of Paris with a hole in the center. Paris

When I zoom in at openstreetsmaps all thos lovely tiny streets in the center of Paris are available.

So my question is how do I get a complete download?

John

This is happening with me too. Only a white hole in the Paris place.

Yes, there is a known problem with the rendering of Paris on garmin.openstreetmap.org. It happened on two updates now and I haven't been able to pinpoint the source of the problem yet.
