I'd like to put in an update for JFK airport's recent changes, but I'm not clear on the procedure. The changes are: -- Terminal 6 has been demolished -- Terminal 4's B concourse has been lengthened to add nine gates

It appears that the current map is based on an out of date aerial/satellite photograph. Must I provide an updated photograph in order to make these changes? If not, is it simply a matter of editing, say, with the Potlatch editor? What verification, if any, must I provide to demonstrate that my changes are accurate?

The best way will be if a local mapper knows of an up-to-date source for regional aerial photography.

The next best way is if you can supply the updated photograph. It should be possible to Geo-Correct the photograph based on existing buildings. Then the photograph could be used as a Geo-Tif via a plugin for JOSM as background to enter the new building information.

Note: I also looked at the NAIP aerial imagery. While newer, it doesn't show the terminal 4 & 6 changes yet but it does show that terminal 5 has also been changed.

For verification: in the changeset, list your sources, for example Bing aerial, GPS, local knowledge. If the photograph is public, cite its source.

Presumably for an airport it shouldn't be too hard to gather recent-enough aerial photos, even if they're a bit harder to rectify than satellite imagery.
