View Mapnik tiles in potlatch2?

0

One peculiar thing IMO is that Potlatch's tile options are out of synch with Slippy's tile options. In particular, the default Slippy tileset, Mapnik, isn't available in Potlatch. This makes for a WYSINWYG situation -- your Potlatch appearance won't resemble the Slippy appearance. It would be nice to be able to see just what your edits will look like in the default Slippy view (Mapnik)... before saving.

(Apologies if I'm getting any of these terms confused/misused).

Apologies if I'm missing something here, but in Potlatch, if you select "background" and then "OSM - Mapnik", does that do what you want?

I don't think so - I think what he means is that he wants to "preview" his changes as they would appear on the standard map style - i.e. WYSIWYG. That would involve creating a p2 "style" resembling the standard style, in addition to the potlatch / opencyclemap / gps styles available.

So presumably "save, then open the view link in a new tab" would work? (allowing a bit of time for Mapnik to render of course)

I believe Paul Hartmann has ported the Mapnik 'Standard' style to MapCSS - it should be possible to use that in P2, maybe with a bit of tweaking.
