Adding house number properly?

0

Sorry, first time editing maps, but it would be great to contribute.

I think I added my houes number properly by adding a building node on top of the house, then adding the house number: https://www.openstreetmap.org/edit?lat=42.392172&lon=-72.73985&zoom=18

3 Chesterfield Road (Rt 143), Williamsburg, MA, USA

But when I search for my address it ends up pointing much further up the road. https://www.openstreetmap.org/?minlon=-72.740281&minlat=42.392677&maxlon=-72.740181&maxlat=42.392777

what you did looks ok to me - maybe you should have waited a little bit for the server to digest your input

Perfect! Yeah, I didn't realize there was a delay. Thanks!

Hi MCorner & mappers, Heres another one, take a look at Gorinchem in the Netherlands, there a lot numbers added by pointing. It could be normal. But IMHO its a bit overdone and covering a lot if info. Is it possible to put it into a extra layer ? Or do I just look at it at the wrong format ?

(A) This is a different problem - better to start a new question! (B) I do not know the specific location, a solution could be to use the entrance=* tag on nodes along the building area.
