Potlatch2 - it is not possible to enter text on an Android tablet keyboard

0

On an Android (honeycomb) tablet, the keyboard does not appear, which does not allow text to be entered.

(I'm not familiar with Android but) isn't there a way to manually bring the soft keyboard up**? If not, probably that's something that you'd want to take up with Google rather than OSM, since it's their software that's the problem.

I'd imagine that a (relatively) small screen without a mouse would be quite limiting in terms of the general editing that you can do (does "pinch to zoom" work properly, for example?), so perhaps an Android-specific editing application might be a better bet? I'm sure that other people can chip in with specific recommendations.

** I had a quick go with Potlatch2 on a Blackberry Playbook (a 7" non-Android tablet) and you CAN enter text, but zoom is tricky, and every off-target touch creates a new node, so frankly you wouldn't actually use this for editing.
