Hey. I have a Garmin 800 and have found a gps track that I've downloaded, but this is in gpx format and my Garmin 800 has Fit. format. How do I change gpx format to Fit. format. So I can download it to my gps. ? maybe someone can tell me how to handle this. ?

Have you tried that gpx file with your garmin device? It might work fine (as well as it can with raw gps track) with gpx format too.

The Garmin Edge 800 is able to read GPX files, you just have to put them in the right place. So connect the Edge to your PC, and it should appear as a removable drive. Now go to that drive, then open the folder Garmin\NewFiles. Then copy the GPX file into that folder. Then disconnect the Edge from the PC, and switch it on. Then it should load the GPX file.

An alternative is to use Garmin Training Center or Garmin BaseCamp. Both are available as a free download for Windows or Mac. You can import the GPX file into Training Center or BaseCamp, then send it to the Edge.

There is also a Garmin\NewFiles folder on the sd card. So it´s possible to transfer a gpx file from an Android device, by transfering the sd card. Useful when a PC is not available and you want to follow a route downloaded from a site like gpsies.com on your phone or tablet.

That's been asked before, but the answer wasn't formally accepted (which doesn't mean that it doesn't work). Maybe you could try that and let us know if it works for you?

Thanks a lot for your explanation ! Your topic has answered to my interrogation. Now I can upload the GPX files exported since my Carto Explorer 3D software in my GPS Garmin Edge 810. Best regards, Gillou De Labas (France)

@aseerel4c26 I just tested if it might be converted to a comment if the comments were deleted but to no avail.....
