  • Pan the map to the area you wish to edit
  • Click the "Edit" button at the top left. (Account and Login is required for this)
  • Wait a while for the Potlatch-editor to load, then wait for the objects to load. Says: "Loading data..." in the right top corner
  • Select the woodland in the editor
  • At the left panel there should be a field that says "Name"

if not, then:

  • (Assuming the woodland is still selected) Click "Advanced" at the bottom of the left panel.
  • Click "Add" at the middle of the left panel.
  • Type "name" and press return.
  • Type desired name

If you alt-tabbed to here during doing the three last steps the editor might loose focus and act up. If you can't solve it just click "Add" again.

Then just click "Save" in the top left corner and add a comment. (Perhaps the source of the data you provided, perhaps Knowledge?

Then you might head on to the Beginners Guide or perhaps check out some video tutorials at youtube

I would add that not everything has a name, and if you're not 100% sure of the name, probably best to leave it blank. If you're describing something and not naming it, use description= instead.
