There are several explenations why the cookies might not be returned from your browser. Cookies can be enabled and disabled on a domain by domain level and they can expire. If the login procedure started without cookies enabled/expired cookies then you will get this error. Check that you have not added wiki.openstreetmap.org to your blacklist, or if using a whitelist add it to it. Then restart the login procedure by going to http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/ and click login at the top right. I'm roughly aware of how cookies work. I block them on a domain-by-domain basis (using FF/Cookie Whitelist), but wiki.openstreetmap.org is on the whitelist. Anyway, now my username is gone. I can't be arsed to find out what's wrong right now, good luck with OSM, and thanks for your help!

Likely an issue with http:// being whitelisted but not https://. The wiki uses https:// for login.
