Hello, We would like to use OSM in commercial product. Our product is IDE for building simulation modeling. A user may create a model and export it as a Java applet/application to run it separately from IDE. Does license allow us to add some API or tools to our product that makes possible using OSM in the product and in sumulation models? Possible map use cases can be:

OpenStreetMap does not impose any limitations on the license of software products working with OSM data or maps. Data licenses and software licenses are considered separate. However, if users of your software produce works that contain OSM data or maps and distribute them, then they will have to respect the terms of the OSM license. If you also want to distribute OSM data directly with your product, then "Can I charge for distributing OSM data..." from the Legal FAQ applies. |
