Hi my name is Lee and I am a police officer in Alloa, Clackmannanshire in Scotland. I was wondering could someone please update the map for this area as it is sooo minimal. it would be a great use for us on the street and so many of us would use this! Many thanks, Lee |
Hello, and welcome, and great to hear you are finding OpenStreetMap to be useful. As OpenStreetMap is a map that anyone can edit, the best way to improve it is usually to update it yourself. You can start with the Beginners' guide for instructions. You can also encourage others in you local area to get involved, and contributing to the map. Maybe also contact community groups that could help out. One good way to get people involved in mapping a particular area, would be to organise a mapping party. This means experienced mappers can help beginners, it can attract publicity in the local community, and help get a town mapped well. You could also contact some of the people involved in WikiProject Scotland. They have regular social meetings in Glasgow and Edinburgh, and I'm sure some would be willing to travel to Clackmannanshire to map there, and possibly help organise a mapping party. answered 09 Oct '10, 14:45 Vclaw |
