We have a very well-curated and up-to-date dataset of location information for our business. We already use this feed to manage our Google Local data, as well as our own website.

I am new to OpenStreetMap, so maybe there isn't even a desire for this type of information here, but if there is could someone point me in the right direction?

Thanks

Welcome to OSM! Have a look at the wiki Import Guidelines page. It's crucial that any such "import" is only done with the agreement of the local community; is not encumbered by copyright (e.g. if you created the locations by reference to a Google Map or similar); and is technically up to par, with sensible tags, no duplication of existing data, etc.

Thanks Richard,

This looks like a great place to get started, is there any precedent or example of imports similar to the one I would potentially be doing?

My impression is that most of the imports center around more permanent GIS data such as street locations and the like.

What sort of info are you planning to import?

It might be easiest to discuss your ideas and needs on IRC and then post the solution here for future reference. http://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/IRC I'd start with #osm channel.

Have you discussed this further on IRC? If so, please comment here, provide a transcript of the chat, or better yet send an email to the imports@ mailing list. I have an interest in conflation; I have an incomplete (non-usable) conflation plugin for JOSM that I keep on meaning to get working.
