Why has Yahoo aerial photography disapeared?

0

On Potlach 1, it appears that Yahoo aerials disapeared about a week ago (from scales that had always, in the past, shown up). I went to the "set options" button, to see if any changes had been made, and none had been made, so i am not sure what has happened. If anyone has any clues/answers, i would appreciate it. thank you.

See the footnote at the quite visible big yellow strip: https://wiki.openstreetmap.org/wiki/Yahoo

From what I know Yahoo changed the API, which made their satellite imagery inaccessible.

There is no doubt that aerial is extremely useful and I am impressed by efforts of the mappers that did so much before it became available. It will be annoying to have get used to an alternative to Potlach1 but Potlach2, in my opinion, is excellent and does allow the use of Bing aeriel which hopefully is available in the area where you are working.
