How does one increase or decrease the lane count for a segment of a roadway. In the specific example I have in mind, the roadway grows from 2 lanes to 3 lanes - with two designated as "thru" and one designated as the "ramp" / turn lane (merges onto a primary highway). Hows does one model this within the mapping engine? asked 17 Jan '12, 22:59 sir_travels_... |
If the way is tagged as lanes=2; you'll need to split the way where the change takes place, then change that section to lanes=3. answered 18 Jan '12, 00:29 bruce89 |
In potlatch2 shift, left click on a way/road will create a node draw from that draws a way/road or lane left click draws another node on the new way taking a line back to the road and creating a node will merge the ways you may have to create a node on the original way then drag the new way node over top of it and press "j" for join should connect it. hopefully a bit of practice on a piece of road or even find a deserted place on the map to practice on to learn the technique just do not save this practice use undo enough times to get back to original state or just log out without saving. answered 17 Jan '12, 23:50 andy mackey |
