This might be offtopic question, but I was wondering what do you think of moving this OSM help to Stackexchange community. There is already a suggestion at Area51 site for this.

I think that benefits would be tremendous, better marketing, possible new users would see this great project and all other positive things that could help boost this osm community.

This question is marked "community wiki".

This is a great question, and I'd tend to agree with you, however this is not the place for it. If we were on StackExchange you could ask in the "Meta" sub-section of the site, however in this case you should pose your question on the talk@ mailing list, and I'd encourage you to do so.

I find the answer that "you should not ask here", less than helpful.

I've just joined, and I'm used to signing up on StackExchange sites with, well, StackExchange. Couldn't do this with help.openstreetmap.org though, and I don't see a clear reason why this should stay the case.
